Sugo al Pomodoro e Basilico (Tomato Sauce with Basil)
Ingredients:
3 cups Pureed Tomatoes
2 cloves Garlic
2 leaves Basil
3 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tsp Sea Salt
Preparation:
- Heat a medium saucepan with Extra Virgin Olive Oil with a medium to medium-high heat. Once the oil is heated, add the garlic and allow to cook to a light golden brown. Add the pureed tomatoes and bring to a boil
- Once the tomatoes have come to a boil, add the salt, stir, and lower the heat to a simmer. Allow to simmer for 10 min and then add the basil. Continue to simmer with basil for at least another 5 min. Taste for any further seasoning, and the sauce is ready.
- The heat can then be turned down to low to allow time for the pasta to cook.
